My long trip report
First of all, I must say the EcoBoost towing experience surpassed my expectation compared with my last two 5.4 F150's towing the trailer trailer. Sure, I can feel it towing at times, but most of the time it's feels as it's not there. I drove mostly in back road mountainous roads from central NM to central Colorado rockies then to northern Wyoming. The towing mileage range from 10.5 to 11.0 which is just 1 to 1.5 MPG better than the 5.4L averaging 55-60 mph. Often when driving up on steep, the 5.4L would deaccelerate (slow down by itself using the same gear or one gear lower), it's not the case with Ecoboost it will go up on steep upward as if driving on flat road. I drive conservatively, as I don't accelerate unnecessarily. On the way back, I used half route using Interstate highway, noticed my mph dropped to 9.0 even driving 65. Was pleased to get highest mileage recorded driving 550 miles without towing in the Yellowstone country and up to Billings on same tank for 20.1 mpg. Most of the driving was 45-50 in Yellowstone Park, and then 60-65 in back roads up to Billings then back to Cody. It's now 4500 miles on odometer in just two months. Gotta to rest her for a while.

This report is just to share my data compared with any one of you guys. I feel that the EcoBoost hype is true on the towing power and overall power. But the hyped improved mileage is somewhat exaggerated with just bit better than the 5.4 but not that much with my MaxTow package.
You really shouldn't expect every truck to get the same fuel mileage under towing conditions. Altitude, load, driving habits, fuel used and even weather in some conditions can all be contributing to towing MPG. Ford doesn't report as to the exact weight they pull when establishing stats. Mainly because there are so many variables.
