Front coil spring spacer/bushing

Does anyone know what the part number or where i can find one for the bushing that goes under the front coil spring. Rubber or poly.

I don't recall these rigs having a bushing or insulator... I know some 80s and 90s Econolines had insulators but they use a different spring cup that are sized for 'em.

Hio, I am ashamed you don't know this one. I believe he is talking about a 4wd F-100 C-bushing for the radius arms.

Maybe... but I'm not clairvoyant and the OP didn't specify 2WD vs 4WD...

C-bushings go around the axle.. not under the coil spring. All that is under the coil on a 4x4 is the spring cup.

So OP.... how about being more descriptive of what you're working with?

C-bushings for a 4WD, go with Energy Suspension poly bushings which are available from Summit Racing.

You're not clairvoyant? Well dammit what good are ya?
I don't have bushings under my coil springs either, I was worried for a minute there that I was missing something I'm supposed to have.

Shown as 5A307 in pic.

C5TZ-5A307-A .. Seat-Front Spring-Lower / Obsolete

1965/73 F100/250 2WD / I don't recall this seat being made from rubber and the truck parts catalog doesn't say.

But every 1965/79 F100/250 2WD has it, but 1974/79 is different than 1965/73.

I think Op is talking about a spring insulator that would have the basic number 5415 if Bumps had one. Which they don't. If OP's truck has some it is prolly something someone added in the past to try and solve a squeak problem. They prolly cut them out of an old tire carcass.

Or it could be an aftermarket rubber spring insert sold by auto parts stores. It was placed in between the coil springs to raise the truck up a bit to fix a sagging spring problemo.

Lemme dig it up and show ya... a coil spring insulator.

EDIT.. the time is 12:25 AM!! : Arrightee.. my OCD is in high gear so I dug these out of the parts bin.

These are 4-inch diameter hard plastic coil spring insulators I pirated from the same 80s/90s Econoline which gave up its 2WD C-brackets so that a 75-79 Dent front swaybar could be mounted to my '70. The Econoline line was already partially disassembled so it was way easy to get the brackets. I noticed these insulators and figured that they would a nice detail item to avoid metal-to-metal contact and fit over my 70's spring cups. However, they didn't work out because their 2-inch bore hole is a touch too small to fit over the 70's steel spring cups. The springs' tail fit perfectly and index neatly on the insulators. You can see how the are positioned on the insulators. Yeah, I should have gotten the Econoline's cups but it was too late...it got crushed so I gave up on fitting them.

So what does this all mean? The OP could be referring to these things if they were retrofitted to his '69. Possible... unlikely but possible.

Aftermarket? I don't think so.. it seems alot of effort for not much "high performance" benefit. Perhaps one of you parts/ PN ghurus can do some microfiche surfing and post the PN of these things and the PN of the corresponding spring cups... I have a 71 F250 what will be going under the knife.

You got it Hio.
The metal lower spring seat is part number D4TZ5A307A. R/S and L/S the same. Fits:
75-2004 all Econolines.
74/79 all 4X2 Dents.
***************************
Two different spring lower insulators for that range of Econoline.
Part number E2TZ5415A fit 82-89 all Econolines (Also F series and Bronco).
Part number E8UZ5414A fit 90-2004 all Econonles. THIS PART IS STILL AVAILABLE FROM FORD.
***************************
No spring insulator shown or listed for Dents.

Thanks King II. You rock!

By deduction, coil seats are different between Bumps and Dents since the insulator didn't fit my '70. To me it is very strange that Ford re-engineered the seats since they are very much the same under the skin.

Using deductive reasoning it looks like it was a path of progression of Ford giving trucks a better ride. The 4X2 lower spring seat part number C5TA5A307A fit 65/73 (yes 73). Up to and including 1970 there were few 4X2 front spring choices. Starting in 1971 there were many. Ford was dialing in the suspension.

Stock front coil springs are also side specific, to balance out the nearly two inch offset of the engine/transmission to the right of the trucks centerline.

My '69 F100 right hand front coil spring has an (uncompressed) height of 16" and a wire diameter thickness of .6465". (Two yellow paint code swatches on it).

The left side coil is 17" tall with a wire diameter of .6150". (Two light blue paint code swatches).

The '77 F100 front coils I have are both 16.5" tall but, the left coil spring has a wire diameter of .6610". The right side wire diameter is .6835".

Spring Insulator

This is the bolt that goes up through the I-beam and into the front end of the radius arm from a 1987 E350 DRW Super Duty chassis cab cube van. It has the two stamped steel cups that the lower end of the front coil spring seats into. It also has a rubber insulator on it.

You can see the impression the lower end of the coil spring made into the insulator.

I found this coil spring insulator on the E350 when I was pulling the front sway bar lower endlink brackets off, to use the sway bar brackets on my '69 F100.

....this style front sway bar bracket was on the '87 E350 DRW Super Duty.

Same 5C499 bracket that was used on the '75-'79 Dentside trucks.

Hey ultra, I bought the 808 springs for my truck, they came as a set (pair) and were not labeled left or right, I assumed they were the same. Was there something I should have been looking for closer? My truck leans to the right (before the swap and after) and now you got me thinking I put the springs on wrong side..
