Finally - progress

Hi all, quick background. My wife bought me a 1950 F1 as a surprise (great wife!!) in the summer of 2013 after recently moving from Houston to Michigan. We ran it while the weather was good then winter hit and it was parked up. I then found out what a Michigan winter was
So most of 2014 was spent getting the barn ready for the next winter so I would not waste 6 months of the year!!
Finally, got to start on the truck this spring and having fun but long way to go. Plans for the truck are pretty standard resto-mod stuff. Probably go with a 347 Windsor, 8.8 out back with 4 link.
But this is where I am now -
Truck before

Strip down, Chevy engine has out of there!!

The truth comes to light

And today so far

Standby for many questions and plenty of photos at -

Cheers, John

Your wife is one in a million! I'm showing this post to my wife. Maybe I will get lucky.
With a surprise, I mean.

Good job fixing the base of the A pillars. Looks like you had the same problem with rot on the driver side front seat mount. And of course the front bottom cab corners.

Winter activity - progress update

Well, after what seems like a month of welding, grinding and painting I finally have the cab floor finished!! Both front cab corners, rear corner repairs, front floors and three coats of paint. I used Rustoleum, primer, black and truck bed paints and it looks great. The truck will probably never be out in the rain so I could not bring myself to pay $130 for chassis black or similar. Though I may do something a bit different when I actually paint the chassis. Which is the next job. I have just unpacked my Scotts IFS delivery and laid it all out to see what you get for your money and check out the quality, which looks very very good. I plan to do an update during the IFS install so watch out for that. Any way a few photos to show progress -

I am always blown away by the determination and skill demonstrated by you's guys in the rust belt. I am SO thankful to be in the desert southwest and not have to do such extensive repairs. Great Work!!

There are hunting and fishing guides that take avid outdoorsmen to great hunting and fishing spots.

Maybe I should open a B&B and guide gear heads to great rust free cars and trucks for sale. Set them up with a rental truck and trailer and send them home with a rust free treasure.

Waddaya think?
