Ok. Seems a bit redundant, but I understand.
I am running just an electric. With the mechanical still in place, most people don't know and don't notice the capped lines.
Are you drawing out of the tank for the electric from a separate line than for the mechanical, or is the electric pump in the suction line for the mechanical?
I WANT TO RUN IT INLINE WITH THE MECH. BUT WILL MECH PUMP DRAW FUEL THROUGH THE ELEC.PUMP WHEN IT IS NOT RUNNING ? THANKS PB
Welcome to FTE!
If you look on your keyboard, there's a key labelled "Caps Lock". When you type in all capital letters, it's considered shouting. We'd love to help you, but we really don't like being yelled at.
When I was running a flathead in my 39, the fuel would siphon back into the tank overnight. I ran an electric pump at the tank connected in series with the mechanical pump up front. In the morning I would run the electric pump for about 15 seconds to refill the carb bowl - turn it off and crank and run the motor with the mechanical pump. Never had a problem and if one of the pumps quit, I could get home on the other. Ken
My 70 F350 had a electric fuel pump on when I bought it 2.5 years ago. The original fuel pump was in place. It worked fine. One day I removed the hot wire to the electrical pump and the mechanical pump worked fine drawing gas through the electrical pump.
ran my truck down the road today, mech. fuelpump sucks gas right up through the facet elec.pump down by the bottom of the gas tank and runs good, thanks pb
