Hello there, I'm new to this forum. I've always been a Ford fan and just found out about this site. I've always liked th 53-56 body style and always wanted one. Well I finally got one, actually two of them, on ebay which just happen to be close to home. You don't see too many of them around here so I jumped on them. I am now the pround owner of a 54 and a 55 F-100.I pretty much know what I want to do to them in my head and now I'm getting in the planning stages. I already got some ideas from yall and one that caught my eye was the aerostar suspension. Could anybody give me some more info on that? JT76
JT,
Welcome aboard! I recall a thread or two about Aerostar IFS's. Probably the best/quickest way to locate it is to click on "search" above then input keyword "Aerostar" then select this forum (48-60) and a timeframe of ~ 3 months should cover it (try longer if you want to). Then you just click on the thread and read thru the reply's and hope for info you're seeking. Piece of cake!
Good luck,
Daryl
PS- I just tried it and got 12 hits.

Hi y'all, welcome to FTE from Canyon Lake, Texas! Yeah, I like that group of Ford P/Us, too. There were two '56s w/i 5 miles of me, but both had pretty bad "cancer" of the body. I passed on buying them ($1100 for one & $1000 for the other). I just don't have the resources to do a project like that. Good luck!!!
Welcome to FTE. Gets some PICs up when you can. So what's the master plan? One of the trucks a parts truck? Or are you building two at once? If it's the latter, we'll keep you in our prayers.
Welcome to FTE! First off I'm going to lay down the rules:

Never take anybody serious!(only under you procautions)
Feel free to chime in on a topic even if it doesn't relate to the question(kenny you didn't hear this
Finally, don't take anything I just said seriously!
Confused yet? Ok,Ok not to scare anybody, but you've just found the best place on the internet for old ford trucks. You plan to restore 'em back to original right? Good luck keep us posted and forgive me for the crap above(its late here) -4speed
Hey JT! Welcome to FTE! So what part of Texas are you from? I live in the great, grassy, piece of garbage, Panhandle. Don't know anything about the Aerostar suspention though.
Welcome aboard! Got your proverbial grain of salt? Great choice of 1st project..if you are doing both at the same time, it is possible. Try 3 projects at once! BTW...You ARE Restomodding them right? ;D
Well I live in Victoria in South Texas right where Hurricane Claudette came in. I do plan on fixing both trucks up plus a 66 mustang. I started on the 55 which I got it down to a cab and chassis. It's going to need both front cab corners and the left rear which is ok since I want to fill in the filler and move the gas tank to the rear. I also plan to put the truck at a lower stance, install wider fenders in the rear, install power brakes and steering, put in a tilt column and custom interior, and put in a 351w and auto. The paint I'm still undecided but I do have a few ideas. I want to do most of the work myself so I guess I better learn to weld better. When I figure out how to post pictures I'll get them on here for yall to see. JT76
