I have a 1994 Ford F250, 2WD, 4.9l I6 and an 5 speed Manual Transmission. Now that I got that out of the way.
I hear a vibration during acceleration in all gears from 0-60 MPH, sounds like its coming from the transmission area, however could be further forward. Changed the U-Joints, even though they felt fine, vibration still the same, shaft and U-joints are indexed so should not be an issue.
Do not feel vibration in the steering or the pedals at all. Vibration may not be the correct word, because you do not really feel it as much as you hear it. Plan to check wheel bearing today to see how they look, motor mounts for damage, and bell-housing for loose or missing hardware or damage.
Any suggestions of other items to check? kind of at a loss, thought I had it licked with U-joints, but not so lucky.
If your truck has a carrier bearing in the rear drive shaft, check that, and check the angle. It's been reported that spacing that bearing down a bit from the frame helps with a vibration felt primarily at low speed and under load...
checked today, looks like I might be missing some weight from the front right tire, will have them re-balanced on Monday, hope for the best that is an easy fix. Everything else looks good, wheel bearing, mounts, motor mounts and do not have a carrier bearing, so praying its a wheel weight.
Ok, so Wheel Balance helped reduce the noise, so that was part of the issue. Know hearing a squealing noise from the transmission area it appears. Going to pull the clutch inspection cover tonight and see what the clutch and flywheel look like, may need a new clutch or something. Guessing if a spring or something came loose on the pressure plate. Clutch feels fine, and works properly, so not sure.
Getting frustrated for sure on what this can be. Any other suggestions of where too look would be appreciated. I will keep you posted!
