I despise leather, especially in trucks, so it disappoints me to no end that I can't get a Ford vehicle with the bells & whistles I want without having to take a proverbial 'poison leather pill'.
Where I live in the desert SW leather will start to crack within 5-7 years no matter how diligently you maintain it. I've had it happen on garage-kept Japanese, American, & German (Mercedes) vehicles. Coworker of mine had same experience on his King Ranch as well. In summer it burns the hell out of you & exascerbates body sweating, while in the winter it's cold as hell.
Bottom line for me: I hate leather's lack of durability & it's 'temperature-limited sweet spot'. The fact that Ford doesn't allow a 'Leather Delete' option vehicles such as Lariet model trucks when ordering is very disappointing.

When I ordered and had my F350 built, I went simple with vinyl. Easy to throw on a washable cloth cover too. Luckily I park in a garage at home and work, so the burning hot seats are only an issue occasionally while shopping or something like that. Only regret I have with the vinyl bucket seat option was that I had no idea it didn't come with an armrest of any sort and just a tray mounted on the floor between the seats. That was kind of lame. Might have just stuck with the free bench seat had I known that.
