1988 E350 Cab Weight?

I want to pull the cab off my E350. About how much does it weigh? It won't have an interior, nor seats, nor doors (except the sliding door).

Also, is there a website where I can find this information? I searched the net, the FTE forum, and my official service manual, but nothing seems to have general weights of things like the cab, frame, axle, engine, tranny, etc.

Try finding data on what Ford calls a stripped commercial chassis:
2016 Ford Stripped Chassis Commercial Trucks | Stripped Chassis Super Duty, E-350, E-450, F-53 & F-59 Commercial Trucks | Ford.com

Finding data on a '88 model will be tough, probably something newer would give useable numbers. Others have done swaps on similar chassis, sometimes there are good numbers there. The search will probably be harder than the job!

Good luck,
jim

What about a rough estimate? 1000lbs? 1250lbs? I'm just trying to get a baseline so I can plan for its removal.

what is your cab?

cube van cab or clubwagon cab? cube cab stripped in the 1000lb range, but clubwagon cab in the 2500lb + range.

cut up a 2000 E450 cube van today, but I took the sawzall to the rockers and floor pans into the doghouse cutout. cut the roof 10" back from the windshield. by the amount of push needed I'm guessing at 350-400lbs with both seats still attached to the floor.

keeping the rolling chassis and cowl for a diff rack and the powerstroke/4R100 for spares

have fun

I'm going to pull the body off of the E350. It's in pretty good condition. Ideally, I'd like to sell the frame + body, but I doubt that's going to happen.

It's going to be on the market in August if someone out east wants a clean E350 frame and body.
