1949 M-68 replacement wheels

Managed to track down the M-68 chassis I was looking for my project!! However, I am faced with the whole split rim dillema. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Are you keeping the stock Timken split case axle? If so the two options that fit the 14" rear drums are either the 17.5s or 19.5s that became optional on F-250s in 1956. These also permit continued use of the stock hub caps. I know of available sets of each.

If you wish to swap the rear axle for a 1972 or earlier F-250 Dana 60 you can then use any commonly available 16" F-250 wheels from a 1997HD model or earlier. Stu

I've got a full set of 6 20" locking ring rims with the original 5 on 8" bolt pattern that will work. Send me a message if interested.

No, an M-68 Merc is the equal of an F-3. Bolt pattern is 8 x 6.5". Stu
