LED Brake Lights? Light #'s
Hey,
You guys seen those LED replacement ligts in like the JC Whitney? I was wondering if they'd work or if any one knows our bulb #'s on the brake lights and our headlights? Thanx for any help, thanx

YOu did not state what kind of vehicle you have, but I know these lights should not be used in vehicles that feature anti-lock braking systems. I have a 1990 F-350 4x4 460 efi, and I purchased LED bulbs for my brake lights. The lights looked great, but I began having problems with the rear anit-lock brake system. The light on the dashboard that signals a fault would come on consistently during driving. I eventually realized that the problem was the rear LED brake lights- they were not drawing enough voltage, which, in turn, caused feedback to the RABS-module. This was an ongoing problem for me until I finally decided to take the lights out and replace them with the stock units. That solved the problem. Good luck... hopefully this will help your decision!

Oh, sorry, I have a '96 150 5.0.... Does anyone atleast know our bulb numbers? Front and back? Thanx for the response, I'll think about it now, if it's worth it or not...

I was looking into this setup the other day, and on www.jamstrait.com -- which looks to be about the best manufacturer with a lifetime wanrantee, they also offer a little resistor that seems like it would solve your problem (and potentially all of ours). It just uses the tap-in type connectors and add s alittle resistor to the brake lights.
