need input on 2001 E450 7.3
hey guys, a friend of mine is looking to buy a 2001 E450 7.3 Cab and chassis. it used to be an ambulance. has 105,000 miles on it. he wants it to put his utility box on but doesnt know how much he will have to mod it.
he currently has a 2001 chevrolet 3500 box truck, van cab, dual rear axle.
would it be possible to swap his box over with some fabrication?
also, what transmission would be in the E450 7.3??? i assume 4r100??
anything else to look out for?

I don't know about ambulances but I was talking to a transmission guy about buying a police crown vic a while back. He reminded me that they spend allot of time idling when not rolling down the road. I would think though that 105k even with idling is not that much... ?
