Turn Signals
I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question. The truck in question is an 82 f150. I recently noticed that my side turn marker on the front fender wasn't flashing when I had my four ways on. The other side was dead also. The parking lights on the grill and the tail lights flashed. I tried my turn signals again, the same only the front grill and the tail lights flashed. When I pulled my head lights on, the side marker lights worked.
I pulled out the Haynes manual, and took a look at the fuse panel. If the book is correct, my truck has been COMPLETELY rewried. There was 15 amp fuses where 30 amp should be, 30 amp where 15 should be, and fuses missing. When I tried to install a fuse in the 'missing' holder, it just fell out, the metal prongs were gone too. I'm thinking the side turn signal should blink with the front...Maybe I'm wrong ? Assuming the truck isn't completely rewired, is there any advice on where to start looking ?
On a completely unrelated question. My truck has the 81 hood. It has FORD across the top. It also has the grill with the FORD Emblem on it ? The paper work indicates it is an 82. Is is possible the Factory installed an 81 hood or was this a junk yard addition ? I assume the truck was built in Canada
As for the hood, look for the build date on the B-Pillar. If it is early 82 or late 81 then the hood was probably installed at the factory.
