Well I just went through this about a week ago. I started looking for a 2015 F150 Platinum but found the price on the 2015 F250 Platinum to be very aggressive. We tried to price a 2016 (there was limited data) or look at a dealer trade only to find that the 2015's sitting on the lots had the deals. The 2015 F250 sitting on the lot had a Trade in assist program for previous Ford owners of $1,500 + $2,500 cash back + $1,500 Credit Bonus + $500 bonus cash for visiting ford.com. I kind of wanted Bronze Fire but for these rebates I'm happy to have a Black Truck.

Living in NJ why wouldn't you want the block heater. Its a very nice option. So are the FCC clearance lights...love the look. Wouldn't own one w/o them. Some other options to consider are the lift assist tail gate and bed extenders (short box) and the park assist and camera if you do any trailer towing. My next one will have the gate and camera. Im adding the gate to this one, last one had it. I tried to install the back up assist but havent got it to jive with the main wire harness yet. Then its gota to to the stealership to be force fed into the computer. Plug n play... NOT!

they don't have park assist on the 15's and maybe only on the F150's no F250 I looked at them for months. There is no cash back on a 16 yet. If you go to the dealer with your list he should be able to hook you up. I didn't get the clearance lights and I was not to happy about it but instead my first mod will be the 3 lights that are in the grill of the Raptor. The roof lights are a $55 option crap. Why a dealer wouldn't order the stupid lights in the first place is beyond me. It adds less than $1 to a payment for 5 years. Seriously Ford dealers get with it. You can add them later but you have to gut the interior and run the wires and drill holes. In some states a block heater is standard.

This has always been the case here as well. Not only with F350's lacking the clearance roof lights but other F-series having a towing pkg but not including the Factory TBC (F150) or the towing mirrors.
Don't know if this is true but I have been told that "Ford" knows what the customer wants and ships out new vehicles to the dealers for their dealer lot inventories and the dealers have to accept what comes in. The Dealer have the option of the motor/model(xl, xlt, so forth) but that is about it. They are allowed to order a certain number of vehicles optioned out as the dealer wants.
I know allot of SD buyers who do Not want the Roof Lights, I for one do, as my ordered 16 will have them along with the other options I want.
Finding a '15 SCSB F350 is not easy as almost all are crewcabs with the 6.7, I want the 6.2L,.
The '15 F350's that my dealer did find did not have the options I really wanted, incorrect XLT Pkg and the exterior color played a big part.
I will give up the rebates to get what I want and selling my present 14F150 makes it easier on my wallet to do it.

While looking, just looking... We came across the deal we couldn't refuse.. It was a lariat instead of the xlt. But it had all the options we wanted and more. We ran the numbers on the ford site on build your own. Upon doing that we figured out we was money ahead by getting the 15 on the lot vs ordering as a lot of discounts etc was for those on the lot not ordered. It was the color we wanted so we got it , in a couple of hrs we was on the road. Also they was giving good deals on financing for on lot vehicle. When all added up we was way ahead with a on lot 15.
