I'm looking for an aftermarket differential cover for my 2014 F250 4x4 6.2L, does anyone have recommendations or experience with the products available for the 10.25/10.5 rear end?
My main reason for wanting a new cover is to have an easy drain plug option since I tow and change my rear oil every 20k-30k miles. Thank you.
Having the drain plug is not any real benefit IMO. I say this because the crap and crud in the differential settles in the pockets at the bottom of the pumpkin. Only way to clean the crud out of these pockets is to pull the cover and clean them out.
I'd recommend picking up the 08' Ford finned aluminum diff cover and done with. Really changing gear oil in the diff every 20k-30k is a waste as the 75-140 is a synthetic with long service life but that is your choice. A 50k mile or 5 year OCI is more reasonable.
I have to agree with DKF on this one. Rear Diff fluid only needs changed if submerged in water. Check the link below for the nice Factory Aluminum cover if you don't already have it.
I agree with the above guys, pulling the cover will allow for much better draining of ALL the crap you want out of there. I don't like RTV, it works fine, I just don't like dealing with it if I have a choice. So when I upgraded my '05 rear diff cover to the finned aluminum '08+ cover (like your OEM one I assume) I also bought the Lube Locker reusable gasket for it, no RTV and totally reusable with zero leaks. I'm very happy with it after a few years now and lots of heavy towing.
Curious as to why you guys are getting so much trash in your differential, I could understand the first change with parts "breaking in" however beyond that and it sounds like precursors to larger issues.
I agree with the others that pulling the cover allows you to clean and inspect the differential properly. But, we all have our own opinions and you asked about a cover with a drain plug. I like the G2 cover. It sells on Amazon for $120 which I think is reasonable. I cannot see paying the outrageous prices for more popular name brands.

I saw the G2 cover as well, do you have any experience with it?

With a limited slip you always have flakes from the clutches wearing. Those flakes settle out in the bottom, like mentioned, and you don't get them out unless you pull the cover and wipe the pumpkin out.
No personal experience. Just from what I have seen and heard from friends. I think they are a quality part. I am hoping to put them front and rear on my truck this summer. Just waiting for the funds. As a lot of folks, money is a little tight.

Clutch type OE limited slip differential sheds friction material as it wears.

Even more of a waste up front unless all your driving is done in 4X4 or with the hubs locked. Ford has a better system up front than RAM and GM, Ford has hubs that can locked and unlocked. Unlocked hubs and tcase in 2wd means the front drive axles do not move. From the factory all front axles come with open diffs so their is no clutch material from a LSD. My friends with Dodges have learned the faults of their 4X4 setup. If you are on a tight budget it is even more of a case for just doing the 08' finned aluminum cover in the rear only.
