Roughly speaking, the rear axle and rear springs are the main difference, assuming powertrain options are identical. DRW came standard with a rear sway bar, it was an option on SRW.

Front axle spacers to accommodate the deep offset of dually wheels, bolt pattern of wheels. Front spring rate is set based on engine and options. With diesel 4.10s were standard and 4.30s were optional on DRW, SRW was always 3.73. IIRC gassers had 4.10 and 4.30 options for both SRW and DRW, maybe depending if it was a 5.4 or 6.8. Manual vs automatic changes ratings regardless of SRW or DRW.

That would explain the high RPMs at 60mph. Must have the 4.30 gears. Sense this will only be towing HEAVY about 10% that might be a deal killer.

On the door label, what is the axle code? Axle code is probably in the tech folder.

If you're towing anything, you'd want the 4.30s instead of 4.10s in a DRW. Deeper gears are better. I wish my SRW 6.0 had 4.10s stock. MPG difference is negligible.

Let me clarify...Dana 80 in the rear for the DRW, 10.xx in the rear for the SRW. Dana super 60 (Super 60 has the offset diff?) in the front for as long as I can remember.

in 05 the DRW went to 8X200 lug spacing on all hubs.

prior to 05, lug spacing was 8X170

05 and later SRW have 8X170 lug spacing

ditto on the leaf, axle, anti-sway, front hub spacer diffeences.

the main differences is the perfomance....drop a 5000lb pallet of cememnt bags on a DRW and is drive and go.

on my SRW, wehn I dropped a 5000lb pallet of cement bags.....even with over load leafs, boom....the rear end bottomed out.

no sag on large trailer loads either.

performance...thats the main difference
