I put '01 Buick Regal seats in mine. The main issue I had is these used slots for the front and bolts only on the rear. If I were to do it again I would, but would have welded regular tabs on the front. They are leather though and feel nice.
Buick seats in a Ford??? Oh my! Lol. I'm not willing to try and do a whole lot of fabricating at this point, so if I can get something decent that changes over to my tracks that would be great.
Using the original seat depends on whether your're a purist or not. I'm not, I prefer comfort.
I prefer comfort as well, but I doubt I will be doing any long distance driving, mostly just local and cruise-ins. The only reason I really want to change is because the PO put a really nice cover over the old cover and foam. The springs and all are kind of rusty and it annoys the crap out of me.
If anyone has pictures of their current seat, that would be cool.
I'm not a purist by any means, but I would never go as far as stuff something GM under the hood. That's just wrong. Seats, nice leather ones for $50, well I could tolerate that. Especially when all the Ford seats I found either were trashed or looked like airline patterns on the upholstery. I looked for Ford first. Really, I did.
The thing I'd like to see is how the bucket seats for these were originally installed in the Slicks. How did they address the drop-off of the floor towards the door? They must have made special tracks for the outer two (DS and PS). My outer front corners needed to span 3" of space and about 2" in the rear outer. The back was easy brcause it was just a 2" riser, but the fronts had an angle to deal with.
The two bench seat tracks only span the flat section of floor, which isn't wide enough to support four bucket seat tracks. And don't the earlier trucks have a step just inside the door? I wondered how Ford put the buckets in these originally.

There is a member here at FTE in Arizona. Bill Wilson that reproduces the proper bucket seat mounting brackets for these trucks. That is if you are interested in installing Mustang and a few other Ford manufactured buckets in your truck.
Do a google search using 65-66 F100 Ford Ranger bucket seat mounting brackets.
I'm good with what I did, but threw the question out there for others contemplating this. Thanks for the tip in their stead. My seats are in and should do me well for a long time, though they were not the easiest to install. Here's a pic of those.

As i mentioned earlier but didnt post pics. Here are my 2001 Seat (Custom Painted), with 69 Seat Brackets, and Bill Wilson Truck Seat Brackets. I just recently removed the headrest
Those will be way better in the truck than the mustang. I worked on a 67 stang with TMI upholstered buckets and I felt like a sardine squeezing into that car. They were comfy seats but you couldn't move around at all.
I liked that console too. I almost got one of those at the Pull-a-Part, but it was trashed. Still may look for one as a 'wrap' for my center console sub thing.

Thanks. The typical Mustang lowbacks look and feel tiny in a cavernous truck cab. These should be in better scale and the modern foam should be waaay more comfy. I drove my 65 Mustang from PA to CA in '96 and was sore for three days after 3,000 miles on its upholstered park bench.
