hello everyone can anyone tell me about the ford inline 6 300...i am an electrician and maintenence and we decommisioned a winco genset powered by a ford 300 inline 6....we scraped genset but we decided to find out if this engine is liked and or wanted by enthusiasts or dime a dozen and call the scrap guys...thanks...an hopefully i am in correct thread....if not sorry and show me the door to inline....
They used to be a dime a dozen, but so many got scrapped over the years, we need to keep em. Lots of guys have swapped out V8 in the F series trucks for a 300. It's a super tough engine, and hard to kill.
thank you for reply.......... sorry so late saying thank you...anyone know of anyone in rhode island aea that woud be looking for one.we have one from a generator.....dont want to just scrap it.....thanks for any suggestions
Definitely keep it. Do you know what it is out of? I own three 300 6's industrial motors. Two of them are on chippers. Don't scrap that would be a shame. If you need help on the motor you can download a manual on it from Pitt Auto Electric. Here is the link http://www.pittauto.com/customer/pia...3%20CSG649.pdf This is the manual for the industrial ford 300 6. I believe there are slight differents in the motors from a car/truck compared to the ones that are used for industrial purposes.
