DPC-203 All the same?

So after spending hours diagnosing this truck I'm pretty certain that the PCM is wasted. It came in with a no start which I posted about a few days ago and after testing all the usual I found oil/diesel soaked and bare wires under filter housing that go to the IPR and I think they shorted and burned up the driver for IPR in the PCM. I replaced them and still got a no start unless I jump the IPR to battery. I ohmed wires to PCM and it all checked out good so I tried my PCM in another 95 truck and got the same no start with low ICP pressure cranking (WTS lamp did come on). I found a DPC-203 at Rockauto with same part# as mine (F5TF-12A650-FJ) but the description says for automatic. Mine is standard and after emailing them they told me it was not compatible. I have read that I can use any PCM of the same DPC-203 family but I have seen mixed results and posts as to the differences.

The auto pcm should would but it might not run right. I've heard that because the pcm is searching for the auto trans the idle can wander.

I've also read that fueling schedule is slightly different.

Quite a few of us running auto pcm's after we've swapped manuals in. I have no noticeable issues with mine. Some guys get wandering idles or romps on start up.

It's been right at 2 years since I put the manual in my truck and no issues so far. You may have to make some wiring modifications for the cruise control to work.

I appreciate the responses. I may send it off for repair if I can't find a manual one. I wouldn't mind the minor differences but it's for a customer. I'll post back with the results.
