Ford Gold Coolant Question
I'm at 53K miles on my 05 F250 figured its due for a cooling system flush and I'll be installing a coolant filter set up as well.
Here is my question my owners manual says too use Motor-craft/Fords
Genuine Ford Fluid VC-7-A Gold Concentrated Antifreeze/Coolant .But just looking on line for it all I can locate is the Ford Fluid VC-7-B Gold Concentrated Antifreeze/Coolant and the info says to use B in Ca. and Or only but if there is no chemical or formulation difference I'd assume the VC-7-B will work as well and the VC 7 A does ? As I'm not in Ca. or Or. I doubt the coolant will know either
So I figured I'd ask here before I screw up.. Questions save time and money and I looked all over and could not find this question being asked before Thanks for any info Guys ..
Instead of going back to Ford Gold, have you given any thought of going to the CAT EC-1?
A lot of 6.0 owners have. To eliminate the silicates found in the Ford Gold, that plugs the oil cooler over time.
Do a little search on CAT EC-1 and see what you think.
