Afternoon gents. Would you look at that...it's the 11th; maybe I should at least stop by and say howdy. Maybe I need more vacation time! Spent a couple of days in Wichita last week...stuck in OKC this week. Now I remember why I don't like either one of these cities...too big & flat for my taste.

Jeff, hopefully the weather guessers are wrong about the forecast this weekend. I know we all need a break from the rain.

Well, the water is falling about 6" a day, so a little rain would probably help wash away some of the fishy smelling mud that everything is covered with.

While I haven't been home all week to check it...the Arkansas still looks like it's moving up here in Tulsa. I know it was down what appeared to be 10-12 feet last weekend. I know the folks with the Blues Festival up here were getting a little nervous since the park and amphitheater where they base everything was under several feet of river water a couple of weeks ago. The good times (if your into R&B) are supposed to start in two weeks.

Love a good blues festival! That one is just a little too far for me.

You make me laugh. I was just talking to a guy off the Slick forum who you met up with in Alaska(Artic Y Block), and Tulsa's too far for a concert.
My son just came up from Killeen, Tx to go to the Brit Floyd concert in Little Rock with me.

Hey, I was on vacation then, and most important, I was single. ;-)

More rain this week then sunny next week...according to the weather guessers. Translation if we don't get washed out this week...the insects will carry off what's left of us when the humidity starts to kill us off. I just love mother nature.

The blues festival/concert is at the Fort; I'm just stuck on Tulsa Time. I do see the irony in thinking Fort's Myth is too far for music according to Jeff. I think you and the bride should make a weekend of it. Check out the music, loose some money with the Indians at the casino and enjoy a beautiful drive along the headwaters of the Ouachita....just in case she wanted to see where all the havoc starts.

Anyone going to be at Petit Jean this weekend?
I just heard from a customer of mine and the '68 Mustang fastback that we did for him will be in the show again.
I'll be there Saturday. Not in the Slick, though, it's undergoing major front end modification at the moment. New kingpins, front disc brake kit and a power steering box.

I tell myself every year I'm going to make the Petit Jean swap meet...and every year I some how manage to plan something else. This weekend I'm headed to DFW to drop the oldest off with my sister; it will be nice & quite without the teenager in the house for a couple of weeks.

Ha- Ha!!!! Waters falling pretty quick!
Damn, wish I could make the swap meet, but alas, a good friend has decided to tie the knot with his longtime girl this weekend.

Happy Father's day gentlemen! Even though it's hot & humid out there...and I ended up picking up the bill for brunch; I wouldn't trade today for anything. Hope everyone is having a great day as well.

You of all folks should be there to talk him out of it.

Thanks. Same.

My dad came for a visit this weekend. We had a great time. First time I'd seen him since Thanksgiving.

I just noticed this morning...while replying to another thread that our fearless leaders at the top of the food chain have given us a new emicolon....

At this point I need to pass along a story of frustration. Generally I preach mom & pop auto parts stores; they hand you the right part the first time and they have actual experience working on cars. The downside, they don't always have the latest in diagnostic tools. Case in point, last week the truck acted like the batteries went south...wanting to make sure my 12 year old/155k mile alternator was still doing its job; I took it out to my local mom & pop parts store. The guy at the counter tells me they can't really test it to make sure it's producing the right amount of amperage, just a voltage check (I can do that with a multimeter). So I head to a big box knowing they'd have the latest & greatest in diagnostic tools. The clown there ask me if it's a 110amp, 120 amp or 140amp; off the top of my head I say it's the 140amp. He looks at me...I kid you not...and says "the ambulance chassis is the only 140 amp, didn't see you pull up in one". When I told him that I wanted to check to ensure proper amperage he says "your asking stuff above my pay grade, most folks just want to know if it's working or not". And this folks is why I generally avoid the big box stores...idiots I tell ya.

Heh, try this: Got a "new" steering column from the local wrecking yard for my p/s conversion on the '61. Supposed to be out of a '73-'77 truck.
NumberDummy over on the Slick forum gave me the part numbers for the 3 possible t/s switches, but the tag on the switch didn't match any of them. Called O'Reilly's with the actual Ford part #. The kid ask what it was out of and I said "the junkyard". Stopped him dead in his tracks.

I'm the same way if at all possible, or I try to order it online so that all I have to do is walk in and show them the receipt.

I would love to have seen that guy's face when you told him that.

I will say this, when Freestar compressors go, they mean it. Thankfully someone in a forum informed me that there is a second filter for the rear air.. of course its in the most logical spot, Under the car!

Three flushes later and I think I have most of it cleaned out, an aftermarket filter is going in-line just before the front orifice tube.
