what can my truck tow?
I have a 2002 f150 with the V-8 5.4 and a automatic transmission what would the weight limit be to towing? I have a 5k pound rv that I would like to tow with it since we are considering getting rid of the suburban. I have the weight distribution hitch setup for it also. Also Where do you check the transmission fluid level on this their is no dipstick?

Lets take the transmission level check first! Your kidding I hope.
Look on the passenger side down the side by the exhaust manifold.
It has a handle on it. Check when motor and trans is fully heated because the fluid expands and must be within the cross hatch pattern.
See page 247 and 274 on checking fluid level in the owner manual.
.
Towing: look at pages 194 and 195. Find your equipage for engine, trans and gear ratio the look at the gross combined weight GCWR.
This is to total weight of both the truck and trailer with all loading of material and passengers and full fuel tank.
Add up the total weight. I must not exceed the GCWR given in the chart.
Bottom line it's not just the weight of the trailer.
Load leveler does not affect the towing weights.
It appears your GCWR is around 13,000 lbs +/-.
To get the trailer weight, you subtract the trucks weight from the GCWR and that becomes the max trailer weight you can tow.
Good luck.
