New Body

Ok guys

I picked up a 68 F150, the body is perfect. So I’m planning on dropping it on my 76 HiBoy frame (I flipped it over backwards). What problems am I going to run in to, I already plan on putting the steering column, peddle assembly and brake booster/master cylinder , and all the accompanying brackets out of my 76 in it. I was told as far as mounting the body the only problem was the rear cab bolt holes were different, wider or something, this is no big deal as I have a 3 in body lift and can always add shims, how are the electrical connections are they pretty much the same (most older fords are) or is it like the rest of a ford ( if the paint is a different color then you need a different bracket or adaptor) I love fords, but you got to give credit every thing will fit everything else you can almost put 6 cylinder heads on a big block and have it work.

The wheelbase was increased by 2" in 73. Regular cab/longbed has 131" wheelbase on 72-earlier, 73-later has 133.

The difference in length is all behind the cab. Check out my gallery it shows a 69 on a 73 frame, although it is a 2wd, you can see the huge gap

Thats not so bad, if i just cant stand the larger gap i can always pop a few new holes in the frame and slide it up a little

Well the box is not a direct bolt on....pretty much none of the holes lined up to the ones in the frame.
I lined the box up with the wheels, centering the wheels in the wheel wells...then just bolted some 1/4" steel right angle brackets to the box holes...then drilled a hole sideways thru the frame to match the holes in the angles and added bolts.
Cant tell the difference from the top.....

well i have a little diffrent situation. i had a dump bed before i flipped my truck it bolted in the same place, and had a subframe under the bed, the sub frame bolted to the stock mounting holes, i wasent going tro say anything about that to make things simple but it looks like it the dump frame makes it easyer
