Hey GA chapter, its been awhile since I checked in - but I'm still here!
I see some are still interested in a GTG. We have a beautiful spot up here in the COOOL mountains and plenty of nearby things to do - making it a worthwhile weekend family trip for those further away. I'd be happy to host something here at my property and have (4) cabins to rent if anyone is interested. There is plenty of room to set up tents for anyone who wants to camp and several nice campgrounds nearby for RV's. It is rarely too hot at nite to sleep in a tent here (I've only used A/C in the house about 4 times in as many years...).
Mom's cabins are on the other side of the property and we have a game room with pool table, air hockey, pinball and slot machines. There is a nice mountain creek for the kiddos to play in and cool off and we could set up an EPIC slip-n-slide if there was any interest. You can check out the cabins and see some pics of the property here:
2s Company Cabins - Vacation Cabin Rentals Blairsville, Ga.
I can even set up a tour of some local waterfalls (aka swimming holes) for anybody who wants to come early or stay later.
Hope I'm not over-selling it, but I know its hard to realize how much cooler it is here than even north Atlanta - but it really is. I spent 30yrs in Fla and have sweated and swatted skeeters enough to last me the rest of my life!!! This place is paradise...
My July is pretty booked and I've got a trip lined up for September, but so far anytime in August would be good.
What do ya think?

Nice to see you back Jason !!!
We moved from South Georgia to North Georgia in October. What little bit of time I have been home it has been fantastic!! Best move we ever made. Still hot but nothing like south Georgia and a heck of a lot less bugs.
4 more weeks of working and then I start out-processing here and get ready to head back to the real world!!! Found out my last duty station before I retire will be at Ft Benning.
Sorry I have been off the net for a few days. My laptop hard drive started making funny noises a couple of weeks ago. I bought a new one thru Amazon so I went ahead and upgraded to a new 1TB hard drive. Once a year Microsoft has a great deal for Office Pro thru the military so I went ahead and got that too. My laptop has been running non stop for over a year and a half now, was time to show it a little love. She is running great now, fast and quiet.

It was 71* in the house this AM (mid 60's outside?). Still haven't used the A/C yet. And the only bugs we have are lightening bugs! (no skeeters!)

Jason, you suck! I can't wait to get my butt back to Georgia. I miss the clean air, trees, clean water.
Exciting day as the Taliban tried to blow up the Parliament building. Killing days till I burn rubber and get the heck out of here. I ordered some new fog lights for the lightning, will put them in when I get home.

Welcome eholloway912 !!
I started the final packing of my gear so I can get the heck out of here!!! Trying to get down to just what I need to make it thru the last couple of weeks. Only a hand full of missions left then I am out of here.
