So I have been having the injector stiction problem when cold. I spoke to a diesel mechanic, he said try seafoam in it to clear up the problem. So I bought a bottle put half in the tank and half in the oil. So after I started and let idle for 5 min it acted like it ran out of fuel. So let it set for a minute and hit the key fires right up. Idle 2 min and dies again. Pulled fuel filters and they look to be clogged up. Changed them started up idled for 10 min sounded fine until you hit the accelerator pedal a few times is dies again. Ok so now this just sucks back to check filters and they are clogged again. So now I am waiting to try and borrow a pump to get the 15 gal of fuel out of the tank get new filters again put new fuel in it and pray that cures it.
Is there any way to use the pump on the truck to drain the tank?
Get it OUT of the oil, drain it, fill up with fresh oil, then swap it again in 100 miles or so. Seafoam will start eating up the o-rings and if you leave it in you'll be re-ringing injectors and resealing the top half of the motor.
When you have stiction or even before add "hotshots secret" to the oil. This stuff is no snake oil but rather an additive that makes any 6l a better running motor. Rplacing injectors becomes a thing of the past.
