engine swap? compatibility and difficulty!
I've got a 99 ranger and the frame has gone to **** on me. Its rusted and cracked in several places. The engine and tranny are solid and I was wondering how easy it is to swap those over into a truck with a better frame. The truck is 2wd and 2.3l engine with auto tranny. What year rangers would this setup fit into?

How about SWAping the engine into a 99 explorer?

Dave, I can not answer that with any confidence, except to say 4 cylinders usually do not put out enough power to motivate something as heavy as an Explorer. Have you searched for a good used Ranger frame?
