I'm looking for information on longtube headers for my swap. I'll be using a Crown Vic front end with a 32 valve 4.6 liter. Does anybody make headers that fit this swap? Will Mustang headers fit?
I'm not running a CV front end but running the 4.6 with BBK long tube headers, shifted the engine to the right about an inch to clear the Toyota steering box. Not sure what the original application for the headers was?
Did you ever get an answer to this? I ran into the exact issue but in a 51 ford f1. Im looking for some headers that will clear the steering or just dump down and hug the engine.

I've done the mock up of a set of BBK long tubes (99-04 mustang GT) on my 82 Flareside which uses the entire CVPI chassis and 4.6 2V. In short, the issue is that the number 5 cylinder header tube hits the lower steering shaft. It looks like that tube can be cut, rotated up, and and extended slightly to rejoin the down tube just behind the contact point. That includes some welding and minor fab skills, but looks pretty straightforward actually. I haven't done it yet so this is speculation still. But they definitely won't fit without it. Keep in mind my car has the CVPI steering shaft, but given the location of where it joins the steering box on the crossmember, it will likely be a problem no matter what steering shaft you are using.
Also, I'm looking at shifting the engine back about 2 inches to give more clearance for the supercharger drive belt, and it appears that will provide extra clearance at the steering shaft. But still will take some rewelding.
