I like being able to garden almost year round. I keep our cupboards and freezer full with stuff I've grown & canned. Nothing more satisfying that picking what you eat.
I use to hate the summer, that is until we bought an above ground pool 2 years ago. Now I look forward to getting off work and going in the pool. It sure makes Fla Summers bearable.
I love the winters. Its nice to be in the upper 20's to low 30's in the morning and by the afternoon its in the 60-70's. Well, except this year. Had way too many 80's.
I like that it doesn't snow. It did when I lived in Ocala, but I ignored it. I always liked summer best when I lived in Michigan, now I get summer at least 11 months each year.
I have not lived in Florida since 1981, but when I was there what I liked was no smog. I grew up in So Cal, and spent 4 years in the Air Force, most of that time was in Homestead. I also liked the crystal clear water at the beach. One thing I never got use to though was the humidity. Or seeing Alligators walking up and down the runway. LOL
Mark, I've lived in Florida all my life-36 years, and I've yet to see it snow. I like being close to the beaches and the country living, at least in North Florida. Also, being a runner, I like the flatness of it, since I'm a wimp when it comes to hills.
Living near the forest, believe it or not, I like the banana spiders. They them build on the trails we run and sometimes on our porch. Its amazing watching her build the web and the cool thing is if she's building in an area we don't want her in, we just move the main stringer and she moves, web & all.

2010 was my first winter in Ocala. I woke up one morning ready to go to Daytona to watch the sports car practice for the Daytona sports car race. One of my friends was a hired driver to help shake down one of the Mustangs.
When I went to leave the house it was in the low 30's, and there was this funny white stuff in a few spots. Some of this funny white stuff sat on top of my wipers almost all the way to Daytona because I wouldn't acknowledge it was there. It was a crystalline form of water, and not ice. I won't put that four letter word in this post.
I love the climate. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and I like riding year round. I am a second generation Florida Cracker. My mother was born in a sawmill camp in 1924. I like the history of Florida, the piney woods, the swamps and I enjoy kayaking the rivers.
Thanks Ronnie. I met a whole lot of the decedents of the original Menorcan families. St Augustine was my official residence from 1981 to 1992. All four of my kids graduated from St Augustine High. My youngest (now deceased) and my next to youngest are around your age. I loved St Augustine.
