Stainless grill bars

I'm not sure if I posted our newest addition. Another 1950 F8. My son
bought a ration of parts from a guy in NY. with a set of grill stainless.
Dumb as it is, I prefer not to drill holes in a mint grill. Any ideas other
than last resort 3M emblem sticky stuff? suppose that would work, these
are not heavy grill bars- - ideas??
sam

Also two new 22.5 tubeless rims for this truck thats a find.
brand new brake drums thats a find

I'm takin the pic thats my two boys

Hey. That truck looks pretty solid.
Nice find.

My friend found me a nos brake band (for 51 52 f2 through f6 ) the one that goes on the end of the trans. The trans brake. And he also found another brake band that is much bigger. We are not sure what it goes to.
Does your f8 have a trans brake and if so what is the diameter? My friend wants to find it a new home.

Re: SS bars-
The lower part of my stainless grill shell on my model a roadster was vibrating with the engine running. I used black RTV silicone to stick it to the sheetmetal splash apron. I have used RTV a number of times for similar uses. I have no doubt that if both sides are cleaned well you will not have a problem. I would apply it in maybe 4 generous dabs across the bar and then tape to hold the SS bars in place until dry.
If you do decide to go with double stick tape look for glaziers tape. It is used to stick windows into metal frames in high rise buildings and won't release without lots of encouragement.

BTW, nice F8, the body looks like it has been under cover or protected. Looks solid.

And if you decide not to use the bars I'm hunting for a used set for Mater...........

Nice truck, looks to be in very good condition. I had always thought that the F7-F8 grills didn't have a crank hole. I learn something new every day!

Today most manufacturers attach trim with automotive double sided trim tape. How many do you see falling off? Make sure the tape is a major brand specifically for automotive trim tho, not hardware store stuff. Seems to me tho that the SS trim is more valuable than the grill tho.

SS bars

I bought a set for my F6. They are too short. Doubt yours will fit anyway. Mine are still in the package. Would like to see someone get them that could use them. They only fit F1 through F4. Not sure about F5.

F1-6 grilles are all the same. It's only the F7/8 and COE grilles that are wider for 48-50. If you have a set of stainless trim that are too small for an F6, something else is wrong.

Well, that would 'splain it.

All COE's regardless of series use the wide grille, the same as the F7/8.
