Most of the ones I found had twice as many thinner bars, or pics that were too small to tell for sure. If anyone has one on their truck, I'd love to see it and know where you got it.
Since I'm a noob, I'm also not able to PM anyone....
The only 8mm grills I have found, and that you mentioned, are full shells that run $450+. I'd like to have the larger bars, but I don't think I want them THAT much. lol
Actually, I like the one you have. But when I look it up, there's so many variations, and all the stores have different pictures/styles for the same part #'s. What exactly do you have? Did you replace the whole grill assembly?
Mine is Stull's Package without the vertical bars. It's a new shell plus the billet, while expensive, it's the nicest looking setup I've installed. I've used putco, stull, carriage works, street scene and a few others and Stull's package grille is my favorite still.
If you're willing to put the time in to fiddling with it, the putco billet (I think they call it Liquid) can look pretty good. The last one I did, took me 2-2.5hrs and I had to grind the plastic, but it came out really nice.
I checked Putco's website and it seems all their styles including the Liquid fits over the existing grill and doesn't require cutting. I would think that you could see your factory grill through the new one? I would like to have a cleaner finish than that. I don't mind cutting.
I've googled for hours trying to find your "Stull package" but cannot come up with a part #. Only the inserts. Their website has been down for a while also. Do you have a part #, or have any literature that may have it?
Well, I sorta "settled" on the Carriage Works since it replaced the panel. I didn't want an overlay and then be able to see the factory grill behind it. Also didn't want a factory emblem space.
And then there's the fact that I found an auction for $99 shipped on the Carriage Works grill. Almost half of what it costs anywhere else. The part #, picture, and seller's rating all checked out. Seemed like a "too good to be true" thing, but hopefully it all works out.
