Hi, on my wifes 2013, doesn't have that strap to pull yourself in like the pass side...........anyone put one in aftermarket........im old and its getting harder and harder to get in that mother. LOL
Sometimes it's nothing more than temporary stupidity. Or an attempt to save a nickel a truck.
More likely, who ever the designer was of the truck probably has no clue about F150's, doesn't drive one every day, especially 4x4's. To him it probably didn't seem important, since there is a steering wheel available.

Don't know. One thing I do know is the running boards on the '05 F150 Scab will fit perfectly on the 20014 F150 Scab.
The 2014 HD pickup I got late last year did not come with running boards. My wife needed them to get in the truck, so our salesman measured both, and they were the same size, so he had them pulled off the '05 and installed on the '14.

I would suspect that they would install direct or very close to direct, that cab changed very little, I think the same cab from 04 to 2014, you may have to install nutserts in the a pillar where the handle mounts as the a pillar trim would not have any strength, very minor modification, hopefully this did not have anything to do with crash standards. The other factor is if the shape of the a pillar trim is the same through the years.

They (the gen' 11 A-pillar grab handles) will NOT fit the 2009-2014 (gen' 12) F-150s. The A-pillars (and trim pieces) are different - mounting, angle, length.
The LH grab handle was re-introduced in the 2015 F-150s, however, don't know if they are/would be compatible.

FWIW, the strength of the column assembly was increased in '09 such that it is strong enough to be used as an entry aid. as such they removed the grab handle.
i just use the steering wheel on my 2010.
never thought twice about it.
on the expedition (06) i use the grab handle, as it is available and presumably, the column was not designed to be used for entry.
