charging system question

charging system question

seems I may have been directed incorrectly when installing my new gauges.
can anyone tell me what wire on the back of the alternator goes to charging the battery and where does it go, its on a 1970 429

On a that vintage it should go to the voltage regulator which then would feed the battery.

Here are two diagrams depending on whether you have an internal or external regulator with a stock Ford Alt.
