tekonsha brake controller problem
I have a 2003 F350 6.0 diesel truck. My brake controller is acting up for some strange reason. No changes to the truck over the 2 years I have owned it, other than bullet proofing the 6 liter. Truck runs amazing! I towed our 27ft trailer last two years with no changes or problems....until this year. What happened is that my brake controller does not activate the trailer brakes unless I depress the manual over-ride on the electronic brake controller. I check the Tekonsha website and got the wiring diagram and the controller is hooked up correctly. I check the blue wire for power when I over ride the controller and the test light lights up. The blue wire with test light SHOULD light up with the brake depressed since it illuminates with the override on, but that's not the case. I get nothing when I depress my brake pedal.
IN A Nutshell; Electronic brake controller does not work with brakes depressed but it does work when I hit the manual over ride. Is the brake switch bad? IF so..or not, where should I check for problems?
I have no idea of where to check for the problem as my brake controller does not work unless I use the manual over ride
I have checked all fuses with no problems found. Can anyone help me with this headache ...... please
This is mine; if interested I'll ship it for $80 with free shipping, BUT with no offer of buying it back. I purchased another F250, with IBC, so this was no longer needed. I used it for 2 years, perhaps 6-8 pulls.
Private mail if interested. Good luck.
What controller do you have? If you are towing and hit the brakes hard, what happens?
Steve
