2003 Ford Explorer XLT Problems

Truck worked fine until I ran it almost out of gas...Now it dies at stop lights and anytime it's put in park. It doesn't go over 20 mph for the first minute after I push on gas. Doesn't seem like it's transitioning gears well and shakes a lot. Diagnostic says there is an EGR valve issue ,an O2 sensor problem and random misfire issues. Just want to know any opinions of what else it could be so I can know where to start.

Welcome to FTE.

You should probably be in the Explorer forum, and you should say what engine.

Generic advice:

Check the EGR. Check for vacuum leaks in the intake, especially o-rings that seal the intake to the heads.

O2 sensor codes are often other issues like the intake leaks. Misfires will also result from intake leaks.

You may also want to do a fuel pressure test.

Follow the codes, and learn the meanings. An O2 code does not mean you need a sensor.
