Axle Code C5 is a full floating Sterling 10.25 rear axle.

Your photo is showing a full floating sterling too. The semi float doesn't have that hub that sticks out. If your SRW F250/F350 with that large center hub that you see, then you know you have drums/shoes that are 3".

That chart is showing just what the rear axle can carry. Not your whole truck. That's where you were confused.

If you have a F350 DRW pickup you'll also see that large center hub sticking out and it uses 3.5" drum/shoes. I don't recall what the F350 cab and chassis trucks use. They're not really a DRW axle. They hold duals because their frame rails are spaced closer together. They should have the 3.5"'s too but I dunno if they do or not.

The F250 light duty wont have that large hub sticking out. That's the only one that uses the 2.5" drum/shoes. They have fewer lug nuts too if I remember right. The 92-97 F250 LD are extremely rare trucks. Most F250LD's will be '91 and older and most (if not all, I dunno) will have 300-6 or 302 engines. These trucks are really just heavy duty F150's. That name is better than the one Ford gave them, because they are on the F150 platform (if you have one, you can look at your frame behind the front bumper and see the F150's frame, complete with crumple zone) whereas the F250HD is on the F350 platform (same basic trucks in 2wd form and just different front axles in 4wd form).

My 1996 F250 4x4 has an 8600 GVWR, I guess I had the impression that HD trucks had 12x3 rear brake shoes until I saw this post
