08 escape steering column

i have an 08 escape v-6 fwd. i recently started hearing a clicking noise in the steering column. seems to be getting worse and more noticable. front end seems normal. this clicking seems to be coming from right under the steering column cover near the turnsignal area. anybody had to deal with anything like this?

I would go ahead and pull the cover and then do what you do to make it click. Never heard anyone else with this.

I didn't do the repair but I believe its at the bottom of the shaft, had a shop do it part was around $50/60 and I think they charged me an hour labor, can't find the slip so I'm not positive on the time but pretty sure it was around an hr.
