I think it is a little higher than the 10 Deg=5%.

In my example that was 12 deg. It was steep.

I think just to generally get an estimation, when you see a 10° tilt on your info screen that translates roughly to a 5% road grade. I'm only talking about estimating the relationship, not coming up with the actual numbers and formula.

Thanks Sam, that's what I remember and for driving purposes it's close enough to a 2:1 ratio for me. When I encounter a 8% grade I'll assume a 4° slope.
