Is the do code the 71 on the bottom row? Yes sir the truck was made in Canada and shipped to Los Angeles. from what I've seen so far the 77 crew cabs have had an in cab tank and a rear tank No front tank door.Idk still a lot of digging to do I'm Goin to look into the website you posted above thank you for all your help so far.
DSO = Stamped on the 3rd line-far right of the Warranty Plate.
DSO 71 = Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
Note: It's possible that the left quarter panel was replaced at some point, because the replacement bought at the parts counter came with both fuel filler openings, whether it had 2 tanks or not.
The fuel door was sold separately.

Where's the pic of the tail gate you were going to post? No see um.
Quick question for NumberDummy do the 77 crew long bed frames have holes in the frame up front like the short bed 2wds for spring hangers and schackles for a bolt in 4x4 swap??
Did some research last night and you popped up lol it appears my truck has the economy dealer installed ac. Nothing under the hood for ac but the controls are there I haven't looked under the dash yet to see what all is there.

Thanks Bill I looked briefly last night for Tha a compressor and misc. Under hood parts and surprisingly rock auto popped up and had a a few of the parts.
On another note I've read several posts on frame rail widths. So I measured mine last night and it's 34 inches where the bumper and receiver mount to the Frame. Is the same width as the rest of the 73-79 trucks or is it a special width I'm going to play hell find a bumper and other parts for like an axle?
I always have to have the hardest to find parts for, trucks. Oh well I like a challenge. Another question on the dealer installed ac it looks like it only come out of the two vents with the controls on it is that corect?

There were two completely different dealer installed A/C's. Here's the other at left (Deluxe) that was combined with the heater. Right lower pic shows the "Hang-On" glove box.
