I have an 89 F150 auto that did not come with a tach. Found one in the junk yard from same year- looks like three pieces make up the cluster. Mine has the gas gauge and oil pressure on the right, so I'd need to replace the left side with gas oil battery and temp, keep the speedo in the middle and tach on the right. Will it bolt up or do I need to pull something else?
I just swapped mine the other day (1995 XL), I plugged up the whole new cluster first to test it... it worked perfectly but the mileage was about 20k miles higher. So now I need to pull it back out, and swap my original speedo-section into the new cluster so my mileage will remain accurate. There's just three plugs on the back of the cluster, the hardest part (in my opinion) is the gear-indicator... and it's not too bad.

Thanks- Did you get the whole thing or just the gauges? On the 87-91 at least, the gauges will pull out of the cluster without wiring. I wasn't sure if they would plug up without having to move things around.

Whole thing, was $30 at the pullapart. I'm not sure if I could have just pulled the gauges... may have been cheaper!
You have to swap the whole cluster. The gauges plug in differently from one with a tach to one without. But the cluster assemblies swap in eeze-peeze! Simple plug-n-play!
