Clicking noise

whats the clicking noise going on behind my dashboard? It's constant even with everything shut off in my'02 F350. The truck has been laid up for three years and I'm getting it ready to move from Ca. To Tulsa.

Check the turn signal relay behind the radio.

See if it stops or changes when changing temp from hot to cold or vice versa.

Have you looked at your dome light when this happens? If you have dome light activity, you might have an issue with the dome light circuit (like a malfunctioning door switch).

There are relays behind the dash, and any one of them could be the source of the clicking sound.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to follow David's theory but with my hearing the way it is I couldn't hear he clicking with the engine running. Anyway I have bigger problems to worry about now. I am retiring and getting the truck & 20' covered car trailer ready to move from Ca. To Tulsa. I need to install a brake controller and am looking for the blue wire that is the signal To the brakes. Any of you guys have a clue where this might be under the dash?

There should be a plug to just plug into with everything you need. If not the wires come out on the drivers side of dash. It'll be about 6" above the floor and just to the right of where your right leg is.

Thanks David. I'll look tomorrow. Right after I unload the trailer & put the stuff in storage.
