Since it's an xl with no bars, does anyone know if the frame has the necessary mounting ports to support installation of nerf bars? It's my first ford and I had to buy the XL because I couldn't afford the XLT 😶 I wanna dress her up nice and I guess I just need direction...
if you're talking about the factory steps, then yes the cab has the holes already there for them. Even aftermarket steps would bolt right on since they use existing holes and all the cab shells are the same throughout the trim levels.
If you're are talking about steps that actually attach to the frame and not the back of the rockers then I'm not sure, but the frames are also the same no matter the trim level.
Just to add a bit to what Fordman posted,
If you look on the web, many sites have downloadable install directions. That way you can get a better idea on how the mounting is.
I dealt with "runningboardwarehouse", free shipping/decent price/good return policy(sadly had to return my first choice).
