As a side note, I race bicycles. I'm one of those spandex clad guys in the peleton going 25-30mph.
I know that if you want to double your speed, you need to make 8 times as much horsepower to do so. Aerodynamic drag is exponentially related to speed..
So I can see a real difference in economy when you are pushing into the wind or going from 55mph to 75mph.
