I've only had my 2012 F350 FX4 for about a week, and last night I shifted into 4-high, and 4-low in the driveway, just to exercise the transfer case and make sure everything worked like it was supposed to.
I started the engine, shifted into 4-high, then shifted into neutral, and into 4-low. Then back to 4-high, then back to 2WD.
This morning as I was backing out of the driveway on the way to work, the tires were skipping and I could feel the binding you get at low speeds on dry surfaces. I tried several times to shift back to 4-high and 4-low, then back to 2WD, rolled forward and reverse, but nothing worked. I'm currently stuck in what feels like 4-high, although the indicator says 2-high.
Any ideas? The rig is under warranty, thank God. I have an appointment tomorrow at the local dealership to address an EGR-related code, and am having them check this issue as well.

Sounds like a good puzzle for your dealer to solve, rangerbait; I'm glad you're getting them involved. Come back and tell us what you find out. I'll be here if you need me to step in and help.
Try parking on a level ground with the tres straight, while rolling forward shift into N then apply the brakes. At a complete stop shift into 4wd high and listen for the clunk for the trade to engage then shift back to 2wd and you should hear the clunk for disengagement. MAKE SURE YOU HOLD UR FOOT IN THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME. If that doesn't do it you could have sticking hubs but the warranty will fix you up
So...it turns out I'm a moron, thankfully. The electronic locking differential (ELD) was engaged. I didn't realize that just pulling out the 2WD/4H/4L switch engages the ELD. I guess I should RTFM, eh?
Hey it happens, when I had my Detroit locker installed my GF took my truck to the grocery store when she got back she was very nervous looking. I asked what's the matter and she was like don't get mad but I think I broke your truck...I WAS LIKE WHAT?! She said ever time I turned and hit the gas it makes a chipping sound and the rear shakes, I just laughed and said aw babe I love you
