Need some more advise, has anybody had problems with the 4x4 light never going out. The truck wil not shift into 4hi from 2hi but if I switch it to 4 low it will engage. Then if I shift from 4 low to 4hi the hubs stay engaged. Then you can shift from 4 hi to 2 hi and it seems normal?
I have also replaced the transfer case motor and it is getting excellent vacuum.

Reason: additional info
You should reread your post .please be specific
if you go from 4lo to 4hi of course the will hubs stay engaged.
as for not shifting from 2hi to 4hi .How do you know it didn't shift ? did you turn the axles to see ? hear or feel the shift motor clunk ?
going from 2hi to 4lo ,you know you have to be stopped, foot firmly on brake .

Like Rich said, you need to slow down and look at what you're saying. If I read this right, you shifted from 4WD Hi to 2WD and the light stayed on. If this happens, just switch it back to 4WD Hi and let it stay there until you find a level spot to switch it back to 2WD. Give it a minute. In order to shift (switch) it to 4WD Lo you must follow the directions in your owner's manual for your specific transmission.
I have also replaced the transfer case motor and it is getting excellent vacuum.
This happens alot and is a waste of time and money in most cases. The system needs to be energized frequently in order to work properly.
I would bet that 90% of the time, the removed servomotors are still in good shape.
