'49 Manufacturing Plant ?

I am trying to figure out where my 49 was manufactured. It says HP, but I can't find any lists that include HP. Thanks for the help.

With out looking it up, I would guess Highland Park, Mi......OK I looked it up and auto production was moved out of Highland part after the Model T production in the 1920's.

That's what I thought, but they moved the assembly line to Deerborn in the '20s I think.

Well, the code for Highland Park was HM... who knows why?

That's your Patent Data Plate. Mine does not have a space for the assembly plant, just for the serial number???

Was the Patent Data Plate different before 51?

The HP is Highland Park, the code was changed to HM I believe in 1951. We have had this discussion before when mtflat corrected me back in Feb.

You, they must have changed them sometime in late 1950, Edith was built in Sept of 50 and does not have the space, but here is one from a '50 from earlier in the year

and one from a '51, notice that it has 2 additional patent numbers on it.

Joe, that plate from the '50 has the highest serial number I've ever seen. Must have been one of the last 50's.
