Thermosat Housing

Is the thermostat housing on a 1994 F-150 5.8 bolted onto the block, or is there something between the housing and the engine block?

Yes. Follow your heater hoses. One will go directly into the block, the other will go into the thermostat housing.

Yesterday I tried to drill out a broken thermostat housing bolt.Thermostat and housing were off. When I started to back the easy out out the metal came apart.Trying to find out where to go from here.
