Hi Guys
I've removed the shift tube from the steering column on my '65 and I noticed that something is suspiciously cracked- the ring which is adjacent to the tab near the bottom of the tube which engages the shift arm. Is this supposed to look like this? Since I already need to have the tab on the top of the tube welded back on should I go ahead and have this ring welded?
This is the top of the tube; tab lies just below. Unfortunately I'm not skilled enough to weld this thin irreplaceable piece and will have to send it out.
