I have a 5.4L 2001 F250. I recently replaced the starter and this morning when I turned the key it just started clicking. I had this issue a couple weeks ago and swapped the battery from another truck and it started fine for a while. But after this morning the relays are still chattering even when the key isn't in. I believe it's still the battery but I'm looking for some opinions before I go out and buy a new one lol
Thanks
Of course it did, you removed power from the system.
What, specifically, is clicking and under what specific circumstance does it occur?
What specific relay(s) are you referring to?
Have you actually TESTED the battery and alternator or are you just assuming they are good?
Clicking is under the dash/in the fuse panel. It was just clicking in general even when the key wasn't in, as in wasn't turned on. And when the key was in and on it was still clicking and the only thing on my panel that came on was the check gauge light. The starter relay. And yes both have been tested. As of 2 weeks ago my battery was decent, I'm thinking there might be a draw somewhere.
