Could really use some help, lately my truck is struggling to get up to speed. She idles fine and no smoke, but when driving I can feel a vibration on the floor and the truck has a shudder.
Checked fuel presses and it was 45lb
Oil good and new up pipes. High pressure oil pump is about three years old.
Should I remove the valve covers and check the injector wiring harnesses?
The weird thing is some times she goes through the gears fine, still struggling once in third gear, but other times she will be slow to get through the gears. Either way once in third you can feel a loss of power.
Any help on what direction to look would be great.
Stay away from the stealer-ship.
If you don't have a check engine light I wouldn't worry about the codes yet.
I'd pull the value covers and start checking the harness and if they look good check them again with a magnifying glass.
If you have an android phone or tablet you can get the Torque Pro app. It'll check codes, and you can monitor sensors with it. It is a little tricky to use at first tough. But it'll cost you less than $20 to get set up to use it.
Fuel pressure seems a bit low, that might be half the problem. Idling fuel pressure should be 60-70 psi.
Thanks for they info, took off both valve covers and found my problem, Truck is back to normal. Now to save up enough to send my injector cores to Rosewood and really wake up my powerstroke.
I have to admit I'm not sure which uvwh was bad, I inspected all four and could not find any cracks or burn marks, but I figure they are almost twenty years old so I switched then with new ones and problem fixed.
I know I should have ohm them, but I don't have a meter.
I had some burnt pins once and looked at it and didn't see anything. Got on here and said that they were OK. Someone said "LOOK AGAIN!!!!!!" LOL I got a magnifier glass out and sure enough, I had burnt pins.
