I boutght my 1992 f150 flareside 5.8l automatic 4x4 in 2010. First vehicle I ever owned. This thing has been hacked up since it was new. I bought it with well over 200,000 miles on the body and the previous owner said there are approx 50,000 miles on the motor and jasper transmission. I don't know how true that is, but I'm planning on a complete tear down. I want to acid treat and powder coat the frame, brand new suspension 2.5-4" lift (nothing extreme) and rebuild the 351w block I have as a 408 stroker. Also, I plan on installing a 4 speed manual transmission.
I wanted to make it a shiny turd and start with the aesthetics early on, so I took the manifolds and the stacks off the previous owner installed... (lmao)... I installed headers and sidepipes with heatshields, and I also replaced the front fenders.
Now I'm going to take everything off and restart the way it should be done.
