reviving a 95 Branco

I recently dregged a 95 Branco 5.8 out of a field were it had set for 11 years after the trans burned up. I immediately discovered the fuel tank had a gaping hole from being moved by a fork lift so I raplaced the fuel tank then discovered the freeze plugs were all rotted out and the water pump was bad witch consequently got a new timing chain and cover!!! It started with some work and ran like an engine that hasn't ran for 11 years. I replaced the e4od and also the 8.8 355 ratio reardiff. Replaced exhaust added flowmaster super 44 muffler new bosh platinum plugs and bosh wires and the engine smoothed up idels good and sounds good BUT when i throttel up slow winds up great but if I hard gas it, It chokes then takes off if I let out and get back in it same thing let me say this though the first time I started it the air filter was 11 years old and not thinking I throttled it and it ingested some of the filter Help please.

First of all let me welcome you to FTE, I hope you enjoy it here and get to meet and make some good friends.

I'm not sure what's the problem? did you get some crumbled air filter paper into the throttle body/engine? how much?, pictures of the filter would be great. In any case you might be needing to remove the throttle body to clean anything beneath, use TB cleaner to clean all those surfaces, clean the IAC and TPS, and see that all the wiring is in good working state.

P.S.: Btw, it's a BRONCO! not a brAnco .

look at replacing the Cap/Rotor as well. fuel filter if you haven't already. check for vacuum leaks, I imagine most if not all of the vacuum lines are probably shot.

Taking care of these old trucks is a work of love and patience, but you'll get there. I'm glad you decided to give that one some love, you'll be rewarded with a reliable and capable 4WD truck. Pay attention to Kem, that's some sound advice. Also remember to check all the rubber hoses, and replace the belt and any fluid you haven't replaced already.

Yes all new plugs, wires, cap, roter, hoses, air filter, oil filter of course new fluid front and rear diff, question- I took off the oil cooler it was cracked so I just did away with it have you heard of problems with doing this, also this Bronco has a 2inch body lift I want another 2 inches to look good with Kenda Cleaver 33's should I just do a suspention lift for the 2 inches or do away with body lift and go 4 inch suspention lift

just install a leveling kit and that should take care of it.

After sitting for that long I would expect most seals and gaskets are dry rotted and needing some attention too.
